Sergeant Major Dinkins is a Louisiana native. Upon graduating high school in 2004, he enlisted into the Marine Corps and reported to Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris, Island, SC on 25 May 2004. Upon completion of recruit training, Private First Class Dinkins reported to Infantry Training Battalion, Camp Geiger, NC. Upon graduation, Private First Class Dinkins was assigned orders to 1st Battalion 6th Marines, 2d Marine Division Camp Lejeune, NC.
Private First Class Dinkins was assigned as a Machinegunner to Weapons Platoon, Company C from November 2004 until August 2007. Lance Corporal Dinkins would deploy to Fallujah, Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, were he served as an infantry rifleman from March 2005 to October 2005. Corporal Dinkins would deploy on his second combat deployment to Ramadi, Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, were he served as a Team Leader from September 2006 to May 2007.
In August 2007 Corporal Dinkins completed a Lateral Move to Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighting, where he received orders to Marine Corps Air Station New River in Jacksonville, NC from August 2007 to November 2009. During his tour he served as Senior Rescue Man and was promoted to the rank of Sergeant on 1 February 2009.
In September 2009 Sergeant Dinkins reported to Basic Recruiter's School MCRD San Diego, CA. Upon graduation, Sergeant Dinkins reported to 6th Marine Corps District, Recruiting Station Nashville, TN were he was assigned as a canvassing recruiter from December 2009 to January 2012, where he enlisted over 30 applicants into the Marine Corps. Sergeant Dinkins was meritoriously promoted to Staff Sergeant on 2 July 2011. Staff Sergeant Dinkins was hand selected to join the Officer Selection Team, where he served as an Officer Selection Assistant until December 2012.
In December 2012 Staff Sergeant Dinkins received orders to Headquarters and Headquarters Squadron, MCAS Miramar, CA. During this period Staff Sergeant Dinkins served as an Assistant Section Leader, Section Leader, and Material Chief for Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighting. Staff Sergeant Dinkins held additional collateral duties during his tour that included: SNCOIC of MCAS Miramar Funeral Honors Detail, overseeing over 60 military funeral honors, as well as Uniform Victim Advocate.
Staff Sergeant Dinkins was promoted to Gunnery Sergeant on 1 December of 2015. In January 2016 Gunnery Sergeant Dinkins received orders to Marine Security Embassy Security Group, Quantico, VA. Upon graduation Gunnery Sergeant Dinkins reported to American Embassy Kathmandu, Nepal, as the Detachment Commander. In June 2017 Gunnery Sergeant Dinkins received orders to his second post, American Embassy La Paz, Bolivia, as the Detachment Commander. On 8 February 2019 Gunnery Sergeant Dinkins was Frocked to First Sergeant and received orders to 1st Battalion 11th Marines, 1st Marine Division.
First Sergeant Dinkins was assigned to Battery I, as the Battery First Sergeant. First Sergeant Dinkins deployed from May 2020 to June 2021 with Battalion Landing Team 1/4 with the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit's Western Pacific 21.1 deployment aboard the USS SAN DIEGO. In January 2022 First Sergeant Dinkins reported to Marine Air Control Squadron 4, Marine Air Control Group 18.
First Sergeant Dinkins served as the Unit Senior Enlisted Leader for the newly activated Air Traffic Control Company M on Marine Corps Base Kaneohe, HI. First Sergeant Dinkins would deploy with the company to the Philippines for Exercise Balikatan 2023.
In March 2025 First Sergeant Dinkins received orders to 2d Combat Engineer Battalion, to serve as the Unit Senior Enlisted Leader for Headquarters and Service Company. On 12 January 2026 First Sergeant Dinkins was Frocked to Sergeant Major and received orders to School of Infantry-East, Infantry Training Battalion, Camp Geiger, NC.
Sergeant Major Dinkins assumed his duties as the Command Senior Enlisted for Infantry Training Battalion on 12 January 2026 where he currently serves.
Sergeant Major Dinkins' educational accolades include General Studies (Associate of Arts) Degree from Central Texas College and Bachelor of Science (Social Psychology-Cum Laude) Degree from Park University. Sergeant Major Dinkins' personal decorations include the Purple Heart, Navy Marine Corps Commendation Medal with 5 gold stars, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with 1 gold star, and Combat Action Ribbon.
